Understanding the delicate body balance for treating yeast infectionsThe body is really an amazing thing and whenever we are first born, it is almost always in perfect balance.  As a matter of fact, one of the only reasons why somebody would be out of balance whenever they were born is because of a genetic problem or perhaps because something was mishandled prior to birth.  It is very rare for somebody that has a balanced body to be sick because there are checks and balances within our body that keep us from getting sick.  A good example of this is a yeast infection.  Rarely will somebody who is in good health get a yeast infection.  Why is that?

You might be surprised to learn that yeast is present in the environment all around us.  It is not something that is bad for us as it actually does some things that are helpful.  Unfortunately, there are times when the yeast is allowed to grow and whenever this becomes a problem, a yeast infection occurs.  It is not a matter of having too much yeast, per se, it is more a matter of not having enough bacteria to fight it off effectively.

There are a number of different reasons why we might lose the balance of bacteria in our body that helps to fight off these types of infections.  One reason why it might be the case is because of taking antibiotics for an extended period of time.  Antibiotics not only fight off bad bacteria, they also kill the good bacteria in our body, leaving us unable to fend off any problems that may occur.  It might also happen as a result of a decreased immune system, perhaps from taking the birth control pill or a prolonged period of sickness.
